The Killinger and Freund is more than a premonition of the future motorcycle. The motor is IN the front wheel. I don’t know how the motor lasted with the bumps and vibration, or how the steering was with that kind of mass on the front wheel, but WOW.. check out the photos in the link!

Pretty cool stuff. I don’t think that vibration would have been that much of an issue although the did a custom carb with no float needle. It was probably very stable with the clutch and gear assembly spinning with the wheel. Check out the photo of the exposed crank.
